About the event

Join @georgie.francesca and @jas.newsome.yoga for a celebration of the changing season with practices of Yoga, Embodiment and a shared seasonal lunch. Our ancestors honored nature by punctuating each season with various sabbaths and rituals to help them yield into the energy of the seasons change.

The Autumn Equinox is a time for Harvest and celebration, a time to gather with loved ones and give thanks for the rich warmth of the sun, whilst looking forward to the cosier days and nights ahead. This Equinox offers the opportunity to reconnect with self and community, but also invites us to see our own seasons reflected in the natural world around and within us.

During this day retreat we invite you to turn your attention to the here and now; to recognise and connect with transformational practices whilst celebrating this unique moment in the year when light matches dark and the season beckons us to slow down.

We’ll explore the shifting of energies the equinox brings by alchemising the heat and thrill of summer with vibrant and juicy Flow Yoga and embodied, somatic movement into a softer clarity and knowing brought forth with Yin and deep, dreamy rest to help us gather awareness of our personal harvest.

This retreat will include:

  • Flow Yoga
  • Embodied Ecstatic dance
  • Chanting & Mantra
  • Yin Yoga
  • A nutritious seasonal lunch
  • Closing meditation & rest

Georgie and Jasmine are both Yoga teachers (and friends) living and working in Brighton & London. Both hold a deep reverence for the natural world, slow seasonal living, the importance of community and the ancient practices of Yoga.

Georgie is a passionate international yoga teacher and student; on a mission to spread joy. Since training in India in 2017, she has lived, traveled and taught in; the UK, Sri Lanka and India. This experience has allowed her to share yoga with people worldwide and reconnect to her Sri Lankan roots. The magic of community and shared purpose is at the heart of why she became a teacher, whether through yoga, food or music.

Jasmine has been exploring Yoga as a modality of movement, self-inquiry and mediation for over a decade and has been facilitating a range of practices since 2019. Her heartfelt wish as a facilitator of Yoga and self-inquiry is to empower people with the gifts her practice has gifted her; a space to develop a joyful, authentic and compassionate approach to moving our bodies, yes, but also a space where we can practice deeply accepting all the complex elements of ourselves.
