What is Conscious Connected Breathwork?

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a powerful and transformative breathing technique that involves continuous, rhythmic breathing without pauses between the inhale and exhale, in and out of the mouth. This style of breathing brings you into an altered state of consciousness, promoting heightened presence in the body and deep relaxation, enabling you to experience profound shift within your physical and emotional health.

How does Conscious Connected Breathwork support our health?

Conscious Connected Breathwork works on three levels:

🫁 Physical Health: we are maximising our respiratory system, boosting things like blood flow and cardiovascular health, we’re helping to support the physical systems in our body through this connection with our breath and therefore boosting our physical fitness too.

🧠 Mental and Emotional Health: when we go into fight or flight we hold our breath and the emotions we are experiencing at the time get stored in the body. Over time through different stress and traumas we may experience, we store a lot of stuck emotion within the body. So when we do this type of breathwork we are accessing an altered state of consciousness which can help us to re-process and release some of this stored emotion and stress.

🧘‍♀️ Spiritual health: Conscious Connected Breathwork can help us to connect more deeply with our intuition and with our own spiritual connection and higher selves. Accessing this altered state of consciousness allows us to open our bodies up to receive messages and guidance.

What are some of the benefits of Conscious Connected Breathwork?

Reduced stress and anxiety

By activating the parasympathetic nervous system, this practice helps you to connect with your body, feel calmer and more regulated and significantly reduce feelings of both stress and anxiety.

Enhanced mental clarity and focus

Increased blood flow to the brain improves cognitive function, reduces brain fog and increases that clear-headed feeling. It’s therefore a really useful tool to support you with your daily work and to do lists, helping you to feel more focused within your professional life.

Emotional liberation

This style of breathwork can allow the body to access and express suppressed emotions, allowing you to feel what you need to and subsequently experience greater emotional regulation and peace.

Improved sleep quality

By accessing and activating your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest mode), breathwork is a powerful tool to support sleep health and reduce insomnia.

Boosted energy levels and fitness

Breathwork helps to oxygenate your cells and improve lung function, so in turn supports circulation and if practised regularly can increase your overall energy levels and physical fitness.

How does a breathwork session work?

If you're new to breathwork, you might be wondering what a typical session involves. Here’s an overview of how I structure a session:

  1. Introduction and grounding meditation: I will begin by introducing the breathing technique and how the session will run. I will explain how breathwork works and what you may experience during the session. I will then guide you to relax into your body with a grounding meditation.

  2. Guided conscious connected breathwork: The core of the session involves the guided Conscious Connected Breathwork for around 30 minutes. I will continue to help you to alter and deepen your breath in order to maximise the benefits you can experience. I will also be guiding you with affirmations.

  3. Integration and reflection: After the Conscious Connected Breathwork, we move into an integration period, where you allow the body to come into stillness and to absorb the blissful feelings from having breathed in this way. Following this, we move into a short period of sharing and reflecting if that’s something you’d like to participate in; sharing your experience can help to connect you to messages or insights about your life that may have come through for you.

  4. Closing and next steps: we conclude with a brief discussion on after care and how to best support your body post-breathwork.
